In latest news from Uttarakhand, children keep suffering with two posts of paediatricians remaining vacant at the Government BD Pandey District Hospital. There is just one paediatrician left to tend to a large number of children thronging the State-run medical facility for treatment. However, things have turned even grimmer with the working specialist remaining on four-day leave to attend to some urgent works. To tackle the crisis, the district hospital management had to call specialists from other hospitals to keep things going here. A senior officer at the hospital Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta said that they had already placed the demand for recruitment of two paediatricians at the government level. Things would be resolved soon, he said.
