Centre releases Rs 66 crore for tourism development in Rishikesh

The union ministry of Finance has approved a sum of Rs 100 Crore for development of tourism in Rishikesh.  On Wednesday the first installment of Rs 66 Crore was released by the centre under the ‘special assistance to the States for capital investment 2024-25 scheme’.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finance minister Nirmala Sithararaman for the special assistance to the State for development of tourism in Rishikesh.

 The budget would be spent on infrastructure and tourism development of Rishikesh which attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists.

The centre will release the second installment of Rs 34 Crore under the special assistance to state under capital investment scheme after 75 per cent of the first installment is spent. It is pertinent to mention here that the CM Dhami had requested the union Finance minister for assistance for development of tourism in Rishikesh.
