A workshop on World Audio Video Entertainment Summit ( Waves) was organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun at department of Journalism, Graphic Era Hill University here on Thursday. The workshop was organised to create awareness about the ‘Create in India Challenge’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the field of media and entertainment.
In the workshop media personality Kanchan Negi gave a presentation to the students on ‘Waves’ which will be organized from February5 to 9 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Waves will include a total of 27 challenges, including competitive events like reel making, poster making, animation and drone film making, which will allow participants to showcase their creativity and skills.
Speaking on the occasion the deputy director, News division, Akashvani and Doordarshan Dehradun, Sakshi Singh said that “Waves” is a major platform for promoting the traditional culture of India in the media and entertainment sector. She highlighted the different aspects of Waves and appealed to the students to participate in competitions held in different categories.
Addressing the programme the director of the university Subhash Gupta said that “Waves” is an excellent platform provided by the Central Government for the youth.
The assistant director, PIB, Dehradun Sanjeev Sundriyal said that Waves 2025 is a great opportunity for the youth. He said that the media and entertainment industry is different from traditional employment and it not only offers high income but also creativity
In the workshop famous cinematographer Jaydev Bhattacharya taught the students the tricks of cinematography and documentary making. Ohoo Radio’s RJ Kavya also addressed the students in the programme.
