Film maker Prakash Jha meets CM, hails new film policy

In latest news from Doon, the noted film producer-director Prakash Jha said that inclination among people from the film industry to shoot films in Uttarakhand is increasing rapidly while meeting the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the latter’s camp office. Also, he expressed his desire to shoot a film in the State. Welcoming him, the CM said that his government would give all possible support for filming in the State, adding that as per the new Film Policy-2024, permission is being given through a single window system for shooting films. Films in Hindi and languages included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution are being given a grant of 30 per cent of the total amount spent in the State or a maximum of Rs three crore. Foreign films and films with a budget of more than Rs 50 crore are being given a grant of 30 per cent of the amount spent in the State or a maximum of Rs three crore.
The director general of Information Banshidhar Tiwari was also present on the occasion.
