Students should focus on AI, robotics & metaverse : Governor

 The governor Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh has said that the youth is getting ready to take the nation to new heights. He said that the students have to recognize their inner strength and take their education to the level of excellence.

The governor was addressing the convocation ceremony of Uttaranchal University on Tuesday.

Expressing happiness at the large number of girl students receiving medals, the governor said that today’s era belongs to women. He asked the students to focus on new technology, artificial intelligence, metaverse and robotics. The governor said the need of the nation is research and innovation.  He said that our culture, civilization, scriptures, Vedas and Puranas are storehouses of knowledge.
Explaining the importance of the nation to the students, the Governor said that the nation is supreme and instead of just fulfilling our dreams, we have to prepare ourselves to fulfil the dreams of the nation, society and family.

In the ceremony the governor distributed degrees and gold medals to PhD and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, the Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is working in the direction of a faculty sharing mechanism in the universities. He said that the MoUs will be signed with universities for this purpose. Rawat said that the state government is preparing to start hybrid mode for offline-online education in universities.

Sahaspur MLA Sahdev Pundir, Uttaranchal University chairperson Jitendra Joshi, Vice Chancellor Dharmbuddhi and students of the university attended the ceremony.
