In latest news from Uttarakhand, the season’s maiden snowfall occurred in the high- altitude places of Chamoli district. Heavy snowfall has been reported from the winter tourism destination Auli. As tourists have started pouring in in their hordes, the hoteliers along with all associated with tourism look elated. Jyotirmath town experienced snowfall, too. Met officials ascribed this snow-spell to western disturbances.
Meanwhile, the whole of Chamoli district is now shivering under an intense cold wave condition.
Sources said that with the beginning of snowfall, Auli is all set to host winter sports which draw people from across the country and abroad.
