Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami urged residents of the State to celebrate and connect with the 38th National Games scheduled to be hosted by Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025. Addressing the media on Monday, Dhami said that the State is fully prepared to host the National Games on the dates scheduled by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). He extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IOA president PT Usha for entrusting the State with the organisation of such a significant event. The CM further noted that all relevant officials are diligently working to ensure that the National Games are both memorable and successful. He also encouraged the general public to actively participate in the Games and celebrate them in a manner reminiscent of Deepawali. Additionally, he requested public support akin to that shown during the Global Investors Summit held in the state.
He further emphasised that approximately 10,000 players from across the country are expected to participate in the upcoming event. To enhance the players’ talents, the officials are making efforts and will soon finalise the remaining preparations for the games within the designated time frame, he stated.
He also highlighted that to ensure the event’s success, he has solicited suggestions from the sports secretary of Gujarat and other state officials who have previously conducted the National Games in their respective States. Apart from this, the GTCC committee made for the preparation of National Games has also inspected some places and is satisfied with the preparation. Notably, this year’s national games in Uttarakhand will be the first to implement green initiatives, which means that no plastic will be utilised throughout the event. Additionally, he noted that the construction of roads for the National Games has commenced, with expectations that the PM will inaugurate the 38th national games in Uttarakhand.
Dhami further highlighted that on December 15, the jersey, logo and anthem for the National Games will be officially launched. Additionally, the State’s winners of the games will benefit from the scheme initiated by the state government.
