Free cataract camp for army veterans in Doon from Dec 24

Under the patronage of the Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) and the Chief of Army Staff Gen Upendra Dwivedi, a first-of-its-kind free Cataract Screening and Operative Camp will be conducted for the ex-servicemen and their dependents at the Military Hospital, Dehradun for six days starting from December 24.
Army sources said that the camp to be led by a distinguished team from the Army Hospital Research and Referral New Delhi aims to provide free medical and surgical management for cataracts and other eye ailments. Cataract screening will be conducted during the camp followed by surgical procedures for the eligible cases. Cataract surgeries will be conducted by the sophisticated ophthalmic equipment.
Brig Sanjay Kumar Mishra, a renowned ophthalmic surgeon who will spearhead the camp, said that this camp would bring world-class treatment at the doorsteps of veterans. Veterans are requested to register for this initiative.
