‘Desires dominating life a matter of concern’: Manoj Sinha

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and Parmarth Niketan head Chidananda Saraswati addressed the Shankar Dayal Singh Lecture Series – 2024 here on Saturday as key note speakers. The theme of the series was human needs and wants. While Sinha flagged concern over the multiplication of human desires, leading to inner unrest and degradation of social values Chidananda Saraswati highlighted that the more an individual advances on the spiritual path the less become his desires. He stressed on balancing needs and desires for a truly fulfilling life based on the bedrock of the ultimate Truth of life. Besides them, a number of ascetics lectured on the occasion.
Shankar Dayal Singh (27 December 1937-27 December 1995) was a popular figure in literature for his outstanding service to the cause of Hindi language and literature.
