Committed to protect cultural values & conserve demography in U’khand: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is working in a dedicated manner to conserve the cultural values and demography of Uttarakhand. The CM was addressing people after inaugurating the Uttarayani Fair at TDC ground, Khatima on Friday.
He said that the State government has enacted laws against religious conversions and riots and has acted against land and spit jihad. The CM said that Uttarakhand has become the first State in the country to make a law on uniform civil code (UCC) and it will be implemented in this month in the State. Dhami said that the in-depth inquiry is being held against the outsiders purchasing land in the State. He claimed that the State government is taking possession of the land of such people who have purchased land in Uttarakhand in violation of the existing laws.
The CM averred that the State government is moving forward with its mantra of ‘ Vikalp Rahit Sankalp’.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the government is moving on the path of development and conserving the rich cultural heritage of the country. He said that PM Modi has laid the foundation of cultural renaissance in the country by the construction of Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Ujjain Mahakal temple corridor and construction of a magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya. Dhami said that the work of reconstruction of Kedarnath Dham, master plan of Badrinath Dham and reconstruction and beautification of religious places and temples under Manaskhand Mandirmala mission are being done in Uttarakhand. Similarly work on Ganga and Sharda corridors is being done.
The CM said that the State government has formulated policies to attract investment in the State. The government is also working in the field of employment generation. He averred that the government has acted against the copying mafia and has ensured that all the recruitment examinations are held in a transparent manner.
Giving greetings of Uttarayani, Makar Sankranti, Ghughutia and Lohdi in advance, the CM said that he is emotionally attached to this fair. He said that the folk art and traditional songs of the State are being carried to the new generation by the programmes and events being organised in the fair. The CM said that the tableaux depicting rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand make a round of the city before the start of the fair.
He said that the fair also provides a platform for the handicrafts and products of the cottage industry and helps in strengthening the rural economy.
