Thunderstorm warning issued for 7 districts, rain forecast across State today

A warning has been issued regarding the possibility of thunderstorms in seven districts of the State and dense fog in two districts of the State on Sunday. Apart from this, rain is likely in 12 of the State’s 13 districts today.
The State Meteorological Centre issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in Tehri, Champawat, Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts. Further, moderate to dense fog is likely to occur at a few places in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Sunday. Apart from this, very light to light rain is likely to occur at most places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and at a few places in Dehradun, Tehri, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky with the possibility of rain with thunderstorms. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 20 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, though there was no major rainfall activity in the State on Saturday, the temperatures dropped by a few degrees in various parts of the State. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Saturday were 20 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 22.8 degrees Celsius and 3.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 11.9 degrees Celsius and 2.4 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.8 degrees Celsius and 4.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
