Bus mishap:  CM seeks report from DM on complaints against Pauri district hospital

 Taking a stern note of the complaints of lack of facilities and problems faced by the patients in the district hospital of Pauri, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sought a report on the issue from the district magistrate of Pauri. The CM has also asked the DM to ensure that all the basic facilities are made available to the patients in the Pauri hospital immediately.

The CM convened a meeting of senior officers of Health department and State administration at his camp office on Tuesday. In the meeting, discussion was held on the complaint regarding lack of proper facilities in Pauri district hospital.

Seeking a report from the DM, the CM said that strict action should be taken against the officers and employees responsible for dereliction towards their duty. He said every possible facility should be provided in the hospital to deal with any emergency situation. The CM claimed that a network of health services is now available in every corner of the State and in such a situation there should be no paucity in the treatment of the serious patients and injured in the hospitals of the State. The CM also ordered an inquiry in the Pauri bus mishap and said that action against the transport department officers should be taken in case of any negligence.

 The CM also raised the ex-gratia compensation announced by him in the Pauri bus accident case. He said that the compensation of Rs four lakh will be provided to the family members of the dead and Rs one lakh to the seriously injured passengers.

The CM’s action in the Pauri bus mishap case assumes significance since the accident victims had complained of gross negligence in treatment and absence of basic facilities in the district hospital Pauri. The agitated people of Pauri had observed a Bandh of local markets on Monday on the issue.
