Elect BJP to office to ensure development at local level: Maharaj

The Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre and State are working to ensure the development of the nation and the State, the State’s Tourism, Public Works and Irrigation minister Satpal Maharaj said. He was speaking at a programme after releasing the party’s manifesto for the Municipal Corporation of Roorkee (MCR) on Thursday.
Releasing the party’s manifesto for the MCR, Maharaj said that ensuring the BJP’s victory is essential to ensure the desired level of development at the local level to put a ‘triple-engine’ government in office. He claimed that developmental works are being consistently executed in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The minister cited the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project and the recorded rise in number of pilgrims and toursits in the State to substantiate the BJP’s claim of development and resulting in the economic progress of the locals.
“During the past three years, the BJP government in the State has ensured a transparent system and facilitated the appointment of 19,000 youth in government jobs. We have provided 30 per cent reservation for women in State government jobs to further women empowerment, apart from providing 10 per cent horizontal reservation in State government jobs for statehood activists,” the minister said.
He further exhorted the public to elect the BJP candidate for the mayoral position in MCR, Anita Agrawal and other candidates of the party at the ward level. Maharaj said that it is essential for the BJP to be elected to office in order to ensure the desired level of development at the local level. Rajya Sabha member Kalpana Saini, BJP district head Shobha Ram Prajapati and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
