BJP to meet Ravan’s fate: Harish Rawat
PNS/ HALDWANI
In latest news from Uttarakhand, with the campaign pitch intensifying for the Jan 23 for the civic body election in Haldwani, the former chief minister Harish Rawat hit the campaign trail and canvassed votes for the party’s mayoral contender Lalit Joshi. Tearing into the BJP, he said that power had gone into the saffron party’s head, leaving them arrogant and indifferent. He warned that the party would bite the dust in this election with the people having resolved to teach them a hard lesson. The Congress’s Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh also addressed meetings and urged the people to throw BJP out. He said that development has dried up under the BJP regime. Whatever development happened in Haldwani had happened during the Congress rule, he said. Joshi has been now doing door to door campaign, taking his development vision to the voters.
