Golf carts enable convenient public commute in Mussoorie

Battery operated vehicles are being plied on various routes in Mussoorie to enhance facilities for both tourists and visitors while also improving the livelihood of local rickshaw operators. The Dehradun district administration trained the cycle rickshaw operators in driving the golf carts as part of the efforts to boost brand Mussoorie. These battery operated vehicles were introduced to provide a convenient commute to visitors and locals while also addressing traffic issues in the popular hill station. Apart from training the rickshaw operators in driving the golf carts, the fares for travelling by the battery operated vehicles have also been fixed. On the directions of district magistrate Savin Bansal, these vehicles will be operated on five routes in the city. According to officials the administration has also fixed the fare for these vehicles. It will cost an individual Rs 80 to travel from Picture Palace to Jhulaghar, from Jhulaghar to Picture Palace, Rs 80 from Jhulaghar to Library Chowk, from Library Chowk to Jhulaghar, Rs 80 from Picture Palace to Landaur, from Landaur to Picture Palace, Rs 80 from Green Chowk to Ambedkar Chowk via Camel’s Back Road, from Ambedkar Chowk to Green Chowk and Rs 120 from Library Chowk to Company Garden, from the Company Garden to Library Chowk.
