In latest news from Doon, the Uttarakhand State administration has declared a State-wide public holiday on January 23 in view of the urban local body polls in a revised order issued on Wednesday. As per the order, all Central government and State government offices, government and private banks, treasuries, educational institutions and commercial establishments across the State would remain closed on the polling day. Notably, the administration had issued an order in this matter on January 10, declaring public holiday in the areas where the civic body elections are slated.
