BJP using dirty tricks to influence voters in ULB polls: Cong

Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said the BJP is using every trick in its bag to influence the voters in the elections of the urban local bodies of the State. Interacting with the media persons at the headquarters of the State Congress on Wednesday Singh said that the dirty tricks department of BJP edited the speech of the leader of opposition (LoP) Yashpal Arya to influence the voters but the people have now understood the game plan of the BJP.
The Chakrata MLA said that he hopes that the better sense should prevail on the BJP leaders. Singh said that the BJP government should stop praising itself and answer questions of people on rising unemployment, prices and corruption in the State. He said that the mining and liquor mafia are ruling the roost in the State. Singh said that the court has asked the State cabinet to give approval for initiating proceedings against a cabinet minister in a corruption case but the State government is protecting the minister.
The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni said that the BJP leaders have sensed the defeat in the ULB polls and it has started engaging in negative politics. She said that the BJP has nothing to show to the electorate due to which it is spreading lies to attack the Congress leaders.
