DM directs officials to gear up for Char Dham Yatra

In latest news from Uttarakhand, while presiding over a district road safety committee meeting here, the district magistrate Mayur Dixit directed the officials concerned to make necessary preparations for the Char Dham Yatra slated to start on April 30 and the rainy season. The Border Road Organisation (BRO) officials present were asked to repair the damaged wall in Narendranagar before the commencement of the annual pilgrimage and remove the debris dumped at the work sites of slope treatment. The officials of the Public Works Department, National Highway Authority of India, BRO and PMGSY were asked to remove the illegal sign boards installed on the roads. The telecom officials were told to repair the roads dug up for laying cable line.
Moreover, the DM directed the departments concerned to send the estimate to the government soon for installing crash barriers along the roads. Further, the transport department was instructed to issue challans on drunk and reckless driving by installing speed limit display boards at various places.
