U’khand tableau secures third place in R-Day Parade

The Uttarakhand tableau themed on ‘Cultural Heritage and Adventure Sports,’ secured the third place in the Republic Day Parade in Delhi. Notably, on January 26, tableaux from several States showcased their uniqueness in New Delhi. Among them Uttarakhand’s tableau ranked third.
Informing this, the director general of Information department Banshidhar Tiwari said that 16 artistes from the State had participated in the cultural activities staged on the tableau which highlighted the famous Aipan art that epitomises the social, cultural and religious significance of Uttarakhand aside from showcasing the State’s huge potential in adventure sports and tourism.
He further said that Uttarakhand’s artistes had clinched the second place in the competition held at the national level for the cultural programmes staged by different States in their respective tableaux.
Meanwhile, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the people of Uttarakhand and the participating artists for the third-place honour. He noted that the tableau had attracted significant attention during the parade, thus successfully showcasing the State’s rich cultural heritage and enormous adventure sports potential.
