PNS | DEHRADUN
CPI-ML leader Indresh Maikhuri has said that while Finance minister has made a provision of Rs 15,000 crore to the Andhra Pradesh for developing its new capital in the Union budget 2025, the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri is talking about holding budget session of Assembly in Dehradun in the absence of facilities in Gairsain, the summer capital of the State.
He said that Uttarakhand has got nothing in the budget. Maikhuri said that some announcements were made in the budget about tourism but no mention of Uttarakhand was made even as the State happens to occupy a prominent place on the tourism map of the country.
Stating that reference to incidents of cloudbursts and landslides in Uttarakhand was made in passing in the budget, he said that no serious intention was decipherable in the speech of the Finance minister in dealing with these disasters. Maikhuri added that the entire budget was dedicated mainly to private sector profits and the insurance sector was opened 100 per cent for foreign direct investment.
