CM reviews progress of Sharda corridor project

 Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the objective of the Sharda and Ganga corridor projects is to encourage religious tourism and strengthen the local economy. He reviewed the progress of the Sharda corridor project virtually from New Delhi on Saturday. Dhami said that with these projects, the government intends to provide facilities to the pilgrims. The CM said that work on separate designs will be undertaken in both these projects.

In the meeting the CM directed the officers to expedite the work of Sharda corridor project. He said that a joint survey of land for the project should be done soon. The CM said that the area vulnerable to landslide should be studied in the survey and work should be undertaken on protective measures. He said that a river front will be constructed on the banks of the Sharda river under the project to encourage religious and cultural tourism. Dhami said that beautification of Ghats will be done under the project and many facilities will be provided to the pilgrims and tourists. 

The Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, resident commissioner Ajay Mishra and other officers were present in the meeting.
