All development blocks to get Labs on Wheels soon

Labs on Wheels will be provided for all the 95 development blocks of the State. Science and Technology secretary Nitesh Jha said this while speaking at an event organised by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) to mark the ninth foundation day of the Regional Science Centre (RSC), Dehradun on Tuesday.
Visiting the construction site of India’s 5th Science City here, Jha reviewed the ongoing work and examined the activities and future plans of UCOST and the RSC. In his address, he emphasized that the Science City at Vigyan Dham, Dehradun, will be a milestone for the State and announced that soon, all 95 development blocks of Uttarakhand will benefit from Labs on Wheels which will introduce students to the latest laboratory technologies.
UCOST director general Durgesh Pant welcomed the secretary and provided a detailed overview of the initiatives and activities of both UCOST and the RSC. Senior finance controller Tanjim Ali highlighted the crucial role of teachers in delivering practical training to students, stating that they are the foundation of India’s future. The annual report of the RSC, UCOST calendar 2025 and a book on Silkyara were also released on the occasion. Senior scientists and students from various institutions shared their insights during a discussion held at the event.
