National Games: U’khand wins gold in Under 25 boy’s category of lawn bowl

Uttarakhand won a gold medal in the Under-25 Boys’ category of the lawn bowl competition at the 38th National Games here on Wednesday. The final match was an exciting contest between Assam and Uttarakhand with Uttarakhand winning by a narrow margin of 21-20.
After the victory, Utkrisht Dwivedi of Uttarakhand expressed his happiness, stating, “This is the first time Uttarakhand is participating in a lawn bowl event at the National Games and I am very proud to win the gold medal. The entire credit for my success goes to my coach aside from the secretary general and the president of the federation.”
Further, in the Men’s Pairs final of the lawn bowl competition, Jharkhand trumped Assam with a decisive score of 25-4 in a one-sided match. Additionally, in the Women’s final, Jharkhand beat West Bengal 18-8.
In the Under-25 Girls’ final, Jharkhand claimed victory against Assam with a score of 21-20, clinching the gold medal. Further, in the Men’s Triples title match, Delhi emerged victorious against Jharkhand, winning 25-8 to claim the gold medal. In the Women’s Singles final, a player from West Bengal defeated Jharkhand with a score of 21-8 to win the title, the officials added.
