No third-party access to UCC registration data in Uttarakhand: Kukreti

No third party will have access to information provided during service registration under the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. Only the total number of registrations will be made public without revealing any personal details, the additional secretary, Home, Nivedita Kukreti said.

She stated that maintaining the confidentiality of information has been given priority in the UCC and personal details such as name, address, mobile number, Aadhaar number, religion and caste will not be made public at any level.

The number of registrations under the UCC will be visible on the official website but no individual information will be accessible. She stated that only the person who has applied for a service under the UCC will be able to seek details related to their own application. If the application was filed jointly, the co-applicant will also have access to the details. No other person will be able to obtain this information. Kukreti said that the data related to UCC registrations will be shared with the local police station for record-keeping.

However, access to these details will be available to the station in charge only under the supervision of the respective senior/ superintendents of police. Any misuse of information at any level will lead to action as per the applicable rules, she added.
