Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has directed the Uttarakhand Medical Services Selection Board (UMSSB) to expedite the process of recruitment of 156 faculty positions in the government medical colleges of the State. The minister said this while chairing a review meeting with the officers of the Health department regarding the vacant posts in the department.
He asked the chairman of the UMSSB about the status of the recruitment to 156 posts of professors and associate professors in the medical colleges of the State. The chairman of the UMSSB assured the minister that the board will complete the process of recruitment soon and will provide the list of selected candidates within a month to the State government.
The minister said that the Medical Education department will soon appoint 53 professors and 103 associate professors in the government medical colleges of the State. He said that the appointment to these faculty positions will benefit the students of the medical colleges and the patients in the medical college hospitals of the State. The meeting was attended by the Health additional secretary Anuradha Pal, Finance additional secretary Amita Joshi and other officers.
