16,800 runners join RG Hospitals’ marathon in Doon

A marathon organised by RG Hospitals, saw participation from 16,800 runners out of 28,000 online registrants. The guest of honour of the event was actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman while cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi attended as the chief guest. The run included five-kilometre and 10-kilometre races for both men and women, with cash prizes of Rs 1.5 lakh distributed among winners. The RG Hospitals also hosted a free community run that drew participants from multiple countries, emphasising global health and fitness initiatives. The event also included appearances by well-known influencers and a professional Zumba team, engaging both participants and spectators. The organisers claimed that the turnout reflected Dehradun’s strong interest in fitness and community events. The winners of the event included Kopal Singhal as the winner in the five kilometres women’s category, followed by Sakshi Baloni as the first runner-up and Aarti Keswal as the second runner-up. In the men’s category, Gaurav secured the first position, with Ankit Kumar and Nitin Bhandari finishing as the first and second runners-up, respectively. In the 10 km women’s category, Soniya emerged as the winner, while Preeti and Anjali Nautiyal took the second and third spots. Hritik won the 10-kilometre men’s category, followed by Rajat as the first runner-up and Pawan Kumar as the second runner-up.
