The Congress MLA from Badrinath, Lakhpat Butola has said that a separate State of Uttarakhand was created to fulfill the aspirations of people of the mountainous areas. Interacting with the mediapersons at the headquarters of the State Congress on Monday, the MLA said that it is unfortunate that the people sitting in the power are trying to suppress the feelings and aspirations of the mountainous areas.
Butola said that he will continue to raise the issues of people of mountainous areas both inside and outside the Vidhan Sabha. He said that it is depressing that the BJP MLAs belonging to the mountainous areas of the State kept quiet when the people of the mountains were being abused inside the house. He said that BJP has won 25 out of 28 Assembly segments in the mountainous areas and it is due to the vote of the people of the mountains that the BJP MLAs were elected and made ministers.
