Arya directs officials to prepare job proposals for 38th National Games medalists

Sports minister Rekha Arya has instructed officials to prepare a proposal to offer jobs to the State’s medal winners of the 38th National Games, to be presented in the cabinet soon. She said this during a meeting held with the officials on Friday.
Arya said that the State government has initiated the process of providing government jobs to players from Uttarakhand who secured medals in the National Games. She said that the officials have been asked to draft the proposal for this.
Additionally, Arya said that she has also directed the officials to distribute the cash prizes to the players as soon as possible. She also noted the necessity of establishing a policy for the maintenance and operation of various sports facilities, including stadiums, auditoriums, multipurpose halls, cycling velodromes and shooting ranges built in the State. The Sports minister directed officials to create a legacy plan and take rapid steps in this regard
Commenting further, Arya said that players from Uttarakhand had won a total of 103 medals in the National Games. Every player from the medal-winning teams in team events will receive government jobs, provided they possess a domicile or permanent residence certificate for Uttarakhand. Notably, gold medalists will receive jobs with a grade pay of Rs 4,200, while silver and bronze medalists will be offered jobs with grade pays of Rs 2,800 and Rs 2,000 respectively. Most of these jobs will be allocated in the Sports and Youth Welfare department and the Police department, she said.
During the meeting, Arya also directed officials to commence the selection process for new players under the Mukhyamantri Khiladi Udyaman Unnayan Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Khiladi Protsahan Yojana. She urged officials to coordinate with district representatives, considering the Education department’s calendar and to announce trial dates promptly, stating that there shouldn’t be a delay until the opening of schools and colleges next session; the process should begin immediately.
