CS Raturi asks DMs to take ownership of the education schemes

 Chief secretary Radha Raturi has directed the district magistrates to take ownership of the schemes related with the education for revamping the school education in the districts. 

She gave the order while reviewing the Sampark Yojana related to the utility of teaching learning materials (TLM) and digital resources under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Sampark foundation in the districts of the State at the secretariat on Tuesday. 

As per the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the SSA and Sampark foundation, efforts are being made to upgrade schools to smart classes. A total of 11,479 schools in all the 95 blocks of 13 districts of the State are being upgraded by the smart classes through digital resources, TV devices, Smart LED TV, Sampark Smartshala FLN and Science TV and videos. 

Instructing all DMs to compulsorily review the Sampark Yojana once a month, Raturi said that the scheme should be continuously monitored through the DM dashboard.  In the meeting the CS asked the DMs to review the utility of Sampark Yojana in schools with the help of district and block education officers. 

She added that the scheme should also be monitored through the Vidya Samiksha Kendras. 

The CS asked the Education department to issue a circular to the DEOs and the principals of the district institutes of education and training (DIET) for the review of the Sampark Yojana and their active participation in its implementation.

 She asked the officers to keep a special focus on the implementation of Sampark Yojana in Champawat, Sitarganj, Pauri, Khirsu, Didihat and Ukhimath blocks of the State. 

The CS said that the technology-driven learning tools will have to be integrated to enhance the quality of education so that the students of the State can get an improved and interactive educational experience. 

A total of 4,337 schools including 3,237 primary schools and 1,100 upper primary schools across the state are being covered under the Sampark Yojana. As per the department officers a total of 25 per cent of the schools of the State have been upgraded to smart classes under the scheme.

The education secretary Ravinath Raman and other officers of the Education department attended the meeting.
