NIEPVD extends admission registration date to April 10

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) has extended the registration deadline for admissions to its various classes until April 10 in response to continuing appeals from parents interested to have their   children enrolled at the institute, said the principal Amit Sharma.

He said that the registration process had begun on February 10 with the deadline set for March 15. “However, parents told us that as many schools had not yet released their results, it was difficult for them to complete the registration process. So they asked for an extension and we accepted,” he added.

He also said that 100 applications have been received so far for the classes operating at NIEPVD. “With the extended registration deadline, we anticipate that the total number of applications will exceed 200. While 10 seats have been allocated for Bal Vatika some seats have been reserved for other classes: five for class I, three for class II, one for class III, two for class IV and ten for class IX,” he informed.

Further, there are no seats available for classes V, VII and VIII.

“After the admission registration concludes, the process to shortlist students will commence. This selection will be conducted through an online test,” he added.

To recall, NIEPVD has allocated 10 seats for non-visually impaired students in the Mathematics and Science stream in class XI for the first time this year. The selection process for non-visually impaired students for class XI will be held after the board results are announced.
