Haldwani corporation passes annual budget of over Rs 100 Cr

In latest news from Uttarakhand, an annual budget of more than Rs 100 crore has been passed at the board meeting of the Haldwani Municipal Corporation on Thursday. Besides, all the 29 proposals presented at the meeting were approved. The important proposal included buying 55 new vehicles for garbage collection and setting up 10 vending zones in the town. The mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht said at the meeting that the corporation needed 120 garbage collection vehicles and presently, it had at its disposal 65 such vehicles, needing 55 more.
He further said that all the councillors have been asked to submit the list of the street lights the wards needed for proper lighting of the roads. This aside, three state of the art libraries will be set up in three offices of the corporation. A community centre will also be set up at Ranibagh. A proposal to name a road after the late leader Indira Hridayesh was passed unanimously at the meeting.
