Actor Hemant Pandey appreciated the State government for trying to improve facilities for filming in Uttarakhand. Addressing the media here on Monday, Pandey said that he is currently working on a Kumaoni film which will be done with the cooperation of the State government. He said that for 25 years he has been planning to make a film on his village, and thanks to the cooperation and development initiatives by the State government, this has now become possible.
The Uttarakhand Film Development Council chief executive officer Banshidhar Tiwari stated that public suggestions and consultations were sought while drafting the State’s film policy. Under the policy, subsidies for feature films have been increased to Rs three crore while subsidies for regional films have been raised from Rs 25 lakh to Rs two crore. Tiwari emphasised that the State aims to include subsidies for web series and television serials under this policy as well. He assured that the objectives of the film policy will be met in the future.
