Stage Piercing figures in PMGSY workshop held in Doon

A workshop on the quality regarding the ongoing rural road construction works being done under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) was held in Dehradun where those present deliberated on the important aspects of the project implementation with particular stress on the Stage Piercing which is to be applied in the works to come under PMGSY-4. Under the new arrangement, the rural road construction works have been divided under four sections and it was decided that clearance must be obtained from the Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) before starting the next phase. This was considered as an essential step to ensure quality and efficiency.
Addressing the workshop virtually, the secretary, Rural Development Department, Government of India, Sailesh Kumar Singh lauded the initiatives taken by the Uttarakhand government and expressed the hope that the adoption of Stage Piercing process would prove effective in ensuring optimum quality and efficiency.
The director general, National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (NRIDA), Amit Shukla also addressed the workshop and stressed on the quality of the rural road construction works.
Further, the secretary, Uttarakhand Rural Development Department, Radhika Jha explained in detail the features of the app prepared by the Uttarakhand Rural Roads Development Agency which enabled the department to monitor the works done by engineers from the rank of junior engineer to chief engineer.
A demonstration of the mobile app prepared for Stage Piercing was presented at the workshop.
