The Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed the steps taken by the Government of India against Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the people of Uttarakhand and India stand with the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi in every step taken against terrorists and their masters. The back of the terror empire is sure to be broken, he said.
Talking to the media, Bhatt said that the party fully supports the initial steps taken by the Centre following the Pahalgam massacre by terrorists. Whether it be holding the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, closing the Attari border check post or directing Pakistanis visiting India on SAARC visa to leave within 48 hours, among other steps, the BJP strongly supports these measures. “There is considerable anger among Indians following this cowardly terror attack. This Pakistan sponsored attack which was against humanity itself has crossed all limits. Actually, Jammu and Kashmir was consistently progressing after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A and the establishment of our enemy Pakistan was not able to digest this positive change. Bankrupt by its own actions, Pakistan did this in an attempt to derail development works and business in the valley,” the BJP State president said.
Referring to past actions taken by India in response to terror attacks, Bhatt said that after the Balakot air strike and surgical strike the enemy had realised that this is a changed India. “The Modi government has consistently given strong and befitting reply to the devious actions backed by Pakistan. This was their last desperate attempt and they will pay for this with their annihilation. PM Modi has also made this clear. The entire population of India supports the Modi government in all such decisive actions,” he said, while adding that PM Modi will take the strongest action considering the nation’s honour, security and public sentiments.
