The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has achieved 25 per cent of its annual property tax collection target in the first quarter of the current financial year. The revenue collected so far is also 43 per cent higher than the amount collected during the same period last year, as per Dehradun municipal commissioner Namami Bansal.
She has been reviewing the house tax collection status regularly and according to her, the consistent follow ups and efforts from the tax section have contributed to the early achievement of the quarterly target. She said that the corporation will continue efforts to increase compliance and ensure timely collection in the remaining quarters.
