Panchayat polls in Dehradun’s Chakrata, Kalsi and Vikasnagar on July 24

The first phase of the Panchayat elections in Dehradun district will take place on July 24 across 514 polling booths in Chakrata, Kalsi and Vikasnagar blocks. The administration has completed the third and final randomisation process, during which polling parties received booth allocations. Officials used the software provided by the State election commission to carry out the process under the supervision of sub-district election officer and chief development officer Abhinav Shah at the Vikas Bhawan on Monday.
Shah informed that the district has a total of 1,090 polling booths. Authorities have formed 1208 polling parties, including reserves. A total of 6,040 personnel have been deployed. Each party includes five members, with a presiding officer, first polling officer and a female staff member as the second polling officer. He informed that the polling parties for the remote areas of Chakrata block will leave two days before voting, on July 22. The remaining 470 polling parties from Chakrata, Kalsi and Vikasnagar will leave on July 23. Authorities have set up 137 polling booths in Chakrata, 130 in Kalsi and 247 in Vikasnagar.
Shah stated that the administration has also issued polling duty orders to the deployed staff after the booth allocation. In the second phase, the district will hold Panchayat elections on July 28 at 576 polling booths in Doiwala, Sahaspur and Raipur blocks, he added.
