Senior journalist dies at 54, CM condoles his death

A senior journalist and the Uttarakhand bureau chief of a largely circulated Hindi daily, Rakesh Khanduri died during a surgery at AIIMS Rishikesh.  He was 54.  The chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami along with many leaders and senior bureaucrats visited his Doiwala residence and consoled the bereaved members of his family. The CM described Khanduri as a fearless and sensitive journalist. Condoling the untimely death of the veteran journalist, the director general of Information, Banshidhar Tiwari said that his unique contribution to journalism would always be remembered.

The funeral procession left for Haridwar cremation ground from his residence. A large number of journalists and social activists participated in his last journey. His mortal remains were consigned to flames in the afternoon.
