The administration of Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospital will be hosting health camps specifically for housekeeping staff and their families on October 2, within the hospital premises, the hospital’s Principal Medical Superintendent (PMS) Dr Manu Jain said.
Jain stated that on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, the outpatient department (OPD) will be closed to patients. Unlike previous years, when this date was observed as a holiday, the hospital administration has initiated a programme aimed at benefiting the fourth-class staff and their families. The health camp will be held on the same day within the hospital grounds, dedicated to the housekeeping staff and their families.
He stated that through this dedicated initiative, the housekeeping staff will have the opportunity to access various benefits. During this health camp, the hospital’s doctors will offer a wide range of services, including all types of blood tests, routine check-ups and other pathology services, among others. The health camp for the housekeeping staff and their families is scheduled to take place from 11 AM to 1 or 2 PM. He assured that this health camp will undoubtedly provide significant health benefits for both the housekeeping staff and their families.
Additionally, Jain informed that beyond this camp, the district hospital has introduced another initiative aimed at supporting the housekeeping staff. He emphasised that the efforts of the housekeeping staff are greatly valued and it has been noted that many of them are experiencing issues related to malnutrition.
Considering this, the hospital’s doctors have come to a decision that each doctor will contribute a portion of some amount. Every month, this will allow the housekeeping staff to provide a package of nutritious food that includes pulses and other components necessary for a balanced diet. He stressed that approximately 30 housekeeping staff members provide their services at the district hospital.
