Health secretary directs GDMC hospital to address availability of doctors & other issues

The Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar instructed the administration of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital regarding the availability of doctors, cleanliness and other matters. This information was shared by officials from GDMC hospital.

According to the officials, the Health secretary conducted an inspection of the GDMC Hospital on Tuesday. During his visit, he also enquired about the health of Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat’s mother and sought information about the facilities from the patients. He learned about the process of making Ayushman cards and on the same occasion, a patient from Himachal was admitted immediately after obtaining a card.

After inspecting the Outpatient Department (OPD), he assessed the arrangements and issued instructions regarding the availability of doctors, cleanliness and painting. He praised the hospital management for conducting dialysis in three shifts. During the OPD inspection, he said that every doctor was present and asked the principal of the hospital to identify the doctors performing well and to provide their names for recognition.

The officials also reported that the Health secretary directed the concerned officials to identify a location for a dental college and submit the proposal to him.
