Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a public awareness programme ‘Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility’ on Monday. This initiative will be conducted across the State till the State Foundation Day, which is celebrated on November 9. During the event, Dhami administered an integrity pledge to officials. Remembering Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who embodied the spirit of ‘One India, Best India’, he emphasised that Patel dedicated his life to the unity, integrity and strength of our nation. This awareness programme is being organised to commemorate Patel’s birthday. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only committed to achieving a corruption-free India but has also worked to make that a reality. Under his leadership, a new work culture has developed in the country, focusing on making governance and administration transparent and accountable to the people.

The CM further stated that the State government is committed to a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. Since the State’s formation, the Vigilance Establishment has taken swift action, arresting 339 corrupt officers and employees red-handed. In the past three years alone, Vigilance has arrested 78 corrupt officials and sent more than 27 individuals to jail on various charges following the directions of the court.

To combat corruption and enhance transparency in governance, a toll-free number, 1064, has been established. Nearly 10,000 complaints have been received through this number in the last three years, leading to trap proceedings initiated in 62 cases and open investigations in four cases, he said.

Dhami further said that corruption will not be tolerated in the State under any circumstances and anyone involved in corrupt activities will face imprisonment. He urged all departments to actively promote this campaign.

Additionally, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan highlighted the importance of honesty, integrity and discipline among all personnel for the strength of society and administration. He said that discipline in work naturally helps to eliminate corruption and praised the significant efforts made over the last four years under the CM guidance to eradicate corrupt practices.
