U’khand embracing ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ vision: Maharaj

Cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj stated that Uttarakhand is embracing and promoting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, a vision envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said this while representing Uttarakhand at an event organised at Kevadia in Gujarat to mark National Unity Day and celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Patel.
Maharaj said that Uttarakhand had the opportunity of showcasing its culture, cuisine, tourism potential and 25-year development journey at this event. As Uttarakhand celebrates the 25th anniversary of its foundation, the State has experienced significant all-around development in recent years, guided by the successful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The National Unity Day event, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, will feature all States across the country presenting their cultural, spiritual, tourism and development journeys at this grand gathering in Kevadia, Gujarat, from November 1 to 15. During this event, Uttarakhand showcased its unique culture, heritage, adventure tourism potential and cultural richness.
Maharaj further said that institutions such as IHM Dehradun, GMVN, KMVN, the Culture department and the Department of Industry were serving traditional Uttarakhand dishes, including Bhatt ki Chudakni, Kumaoni Raita, Jhangora Kheer, Gahath Dal, Mandua Roti and other delicacies. Uttarakhand’s cuisine received high praise and attendees enjoyed folk dances performed by local artists, as well as Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari songs.
The 25-square-metre Uttarakhand pavilion was decorated with elements of Kumaoni and Garhwali culture, including clothing, handicrafts, textiles, ringal art, herbal products and mountain goods from the House of the Himalayas. This pavilion also highlighted Uttarakhand’s 25-year development journey and its bright future, he added.
Before the programme, Maharaj visited the Statue of Unity, paying tribute at the giant statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
