BJP claims Uttarakhand received central incentive in mining sector due to Dhami’s policies

The Bharatiya Janata Party said that Uttarakhand receiving a significant incentive grant in the mining sector is the result of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami government’s transparent policy.  The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt welcomed the Central government’s decision to provide Rs 100 crore to the State for reforms in the mining sector and expressed gratitude to Dhami. He said that the Central government has granted this amount under the Special Assistance to States Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme for 2025–26 for the State’s performance in minor mineral reforms. Bhatt said that Uttarakhand earlier received Rs 100 crore in October 2025 after securing the second position in the State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI) ranking. With the latest allocation, the State has now obtained a total of Rs 200 crore for its work in the mining sector. He said that the State implemented key reforms in recent years, which helped Uttarakhand secure the top position in the country in the mining sector. The government met six out of seven major reform benchmarks related to minor mineral reforms, which led to this achievement. He said that transparent and business-friendly policies increased the State’s revenue from mining. Strengthened management and new policies in the Mining department supported the State treasury and provided employment to many people associated with mining and related businesses. Local residents and construction agencies are also getting material at lower prices due to streamlined mining activities. The mining sector continues to generate employment opportunities and supports the local economy. Bhatt said that the Congress raised allegations in the mining sector but the facts show a different picture. He claimed that the Dhami government earned more incentive-based benefits in one year than what the Congress could generate during its tenure. He added that the current government has secured four times more revenue from mining and continues to move forward on the strength of transparent policies, which he said is beneficial for the State.
