U’khand bans strikes in State services for 6 months

 The Uttarakhand government has imposed a ban on strikes in the State government services for a period of six months. Invoking the provisions of the Essential Services Maintenance Act 1966, secretary Personnel Shailesh Bagauli issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday. The order prohibits strikes in State services for a period of six months from the date of issuance in public interest. The ban order of the government assumes significance as more than 22,000 UPNL workers have been on strike for the last 11 days.
