After chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed displeasure over poor sanitation during a surprise inspection of Dalanwala police station, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh has issued strict instructions to all police stations and outposts in the district to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in their premises.

Singh said that police personnel will do one hour of voluntary cleaning work every Sunday on a rotation basis. The aim is to keep the police station, barracks and mess clean and well-maintained. He also told station in-charges to regularly update records and swiftly resolve complaints received through online portals and the CM helpline.

The SSP further directed all superintendents of police and circle officers to carry out surprise inspections of police stations. “The SP and CO should conduct surprise inspections in their respective areas and complete half-yearly inspections at the earliest,” he added. Following these directions, police personnel at Dalanwala police station on Saturday carried out a cleanliness drive. The station premises, barracks and mess were cleaned, and the overall level of sanitation was focused upon.
