MCH acts against objectionable sanitation message on wall

The Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) has clarified that it has no connection with a message painted on a wall in the Kankhal against littering, in which objectionable language was used and the name of the MCH was falsely used. Officials have clarified that indecency will not be tolerated in the name of encouraging sanitation.
Taking serious cognisance of the incident, the MCH has stressed that any humiliating, unconstitutional or obscene language will not be allowed in the name of spreading awareness on cleanliness. The municipal corporation uses decent language, positive and legal methods to ensure that the citizens follow the rules, officials said. On receiving information about the case, chief sanitation inspector Srikant got the message removed from the wall.
The Haridwar municipal commissioner Nandan Kumar said that officials have been directed to investigate the whole matter. The MCH team is collecting information from people living in the neighbourhood while also checking footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area to ascertain the persons behind the objectionable action. He further said that strict legal action will be taken as per the rules against the persons responsible as soon as they are identified.
The general public has also been appealed to inform municipal officials if they have any information related to the incident. Municipal officials reiterated that its primary responsibilities are to maintain sanitation, social decency and public decency in the city, adding that objectionable actions will not be tolerated in the name of maintaining sanitation.
