Dairy development director ‘satisfied’ with quality at NDUSSL plant

While conducting a surprise inspection at the state of the art milk plant being constructed at the behest of Nainital Dugdh Utpadak Sahakari Sangh Limited (NDUSSL), Lalkuan on Friday, the director, Dairy Development, Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar Joshi said that this project was all set to prove a milestone for the region’s milk collection, processing and marketing capacity which would directly benefit the milk producers. Notably, this project is being implemented at the estimated cost of Rs 85 crore.
He took stock of the progress of the construction work and directed the executing agency to complete the work with focus on timeline and quality.
During the inspection, he closely examined the construction materials being used in the plant. He also discussed in detail the arrangements, machinery installation and technical preparations related to dairy development.
During this visit, Joshi also inspected the quality of the milk, cheese and ghee among other products being produced at the dairy. Expressing satisfaction with the cleanliness, quality control and packaging systems at the production unit, he asked all concerned to ensure that quality and sanitation standards are not compromised at any level so that pure and safe products reach consumers.
On this occasion, the president, NDUSSL, Mukesh Bora said that keeping in mind the utility and production capacity of the dairy, modern machinery must be installed soon so that the operation of the plant could start on time and milk producers could get maximum benefit.
