Two killed, two hurt after MUV falls off Jauljibi–Munsiyari Road in Pithoragarh

Two persons died and two were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in fell off the road in the Pithoragarh district on Sunday.
According to officials, the accident took place near Umargada between Bangapani and Madkot on the Jauljibi-Munsiyari Road when the driver of an Innova multi utility vehicle with licence plate number DL 3CCN 3785 lost control of the vehicle which fell about 15 meters into a gorge.
Four people from Pithoragarh were traveling in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Lachhu Negi and Ankit Pandey died on the spot due to the impact. The two injured passengers, Ayush Pant and Devendra Pant were rescued and taken to the district hospital in Pithoragarh for treatment.
Revenue sub-inspector Himanshu Negi said that the accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Munsiyari police station and the police have started legal proceedings in the case.
