The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, Garima Dasauni has said that the recent statements of former chairman of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Ajendra Ajay suggest that internal bickering is at its peak in the Uttarakhand unit of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. In a recent post on social media, Ajay said that the State BJP is not following its original ideology. He said that the party is side-lining those who have dedicatedly worked for the party for decades together. On a distressing note, Ajay added that he is now contemplating to retire from politics.
Interacting with media persons at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday, Dasauni said that the statements of Ajay, once a blue eyed boy of BJP, show that the actual workers of BJP are feeling alienated and they are disenchanted with the party leadership.
She said that the dissenting voices in the State BJP are getting louder and louder. Dasauni said that Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Chaudhary is seen saying in a video that he keeps officers on tip of his shoes. Similarly, veteran BJP leader Bishan Singh Chufal is rueing the fact that no work is being done in the government. Dasauni said that the senior leaders of BJP have also cornered the State government on the issue of illegal mining. “Former chief minister and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat has raised the issue of illegal mining in Lok Sabha while the Gadarpur MLA Arvind Pandey and Vikasnagar MLA Munna Singh Chauhan have also publicly expressed their annoyance at rampant illegal mining. The utterances of all these leaders show that the BJP which talks about discipline and Sanatan is suffering from internal squabbles,’’ she said.
