MCD gears up preparations for third board meeting

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE / Dehradun
The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has begun preparations for its third board meeting of the current term which is likely to be held around April 15.
The municipal commissioner Namami Bansal said that the preparations for the meeting are underway and the formal notification on the agenda will be issued in the first week of April. The meeting comes after a gap of nearly six months. The corporation had earlier held its first meeting of the current board in March 2025 and the second in September last year, during which multiple development-related proposals were approved, officials said.
The officials said that the preparations for the upcoming meeting include drafting the civic body’s budget for the financial year 2026–27 and compiling income and expenditure details for the current financial year. Most departments have already submitted their reports as part of the pre-meeting process. The MCD has also asked councillors to submit proposals related to development works in their respective wards so that they can be included in the agenda. These proposals are expected to cover local infrastructure needs and civic service requirements across different parts of the city.
The board meeting is expected to include deliberations on financial planning for the coming fiscal year along with proposals related to civic infrastructure and ward-level works.
