Arya releases Rs 3.24 crore to beneficiaries under MUY

Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya distributed Rs 3.24 crore to beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MUY) on Tuesday. After transferring the funds through DBT to the beneficiaries’ accounts at her camp office, Arya stated that the State government has been providing Rs 3,000 per month to destitute children who lost their parents during the Covid-19 pandemic since 2020. Arya said that a total of Rs 1.51 crore was released to 5,057 beneficiaries in February, while for March, Rs 1.50 crore was distributed to 5,025 beneficiaries. “Under this scheme, a beneficiary is excluded after turning 21 years of age, getting married or securing employment,” she informed.
Notably, for the distribution of funds under the MUY for February 2026, Dehradun district had the highest number of beneficiaries, with 739 receiving a total amount of Rs 22,17,000. Similarly, in March, Dehradun again had the highest number of beneficiaries, with 736 individuals receiving a total of Rs 22,08,000.
